Holland Sports Injuries:  Common Injuries & Services

Sports injuries in particular, often require prompt treatment and ongoing therapy,  depending on the severity of the injury.  No matter which Holland chiropractor you see at our office, you will receive the attention and care you need, personalized to your specific injury or injuries. We are happy to emphasize that we follow the testing and protocols established by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Types of Sports Injuries

Each sport and fitness activity presents its own particular type of sports injury due to iStock_000000581481Small.jpgthe type of field or court and the physical motions of the players. Football players often experience concussions, and injuries to knees, ankles, Achilles tendons, and toes, as well as fingers and wrists because of the direct contact inherent to the sport.  Basketball players most commonly suffer injuries to ankles, knees, and their lower and upper backs because they often shift direction quickly and play on hardwood floors. Soccer players and runners often suffer similar types of injuries, such as groin strains, and injuries to their legs (shin splints, hamstring stains), ankles, and Achilles tendons because of the endurance required for these activities.  Swimmers most often experience injuries to their shoulders because of the repetitive nature of the various types of strokes.

Holland Sports Injuries:  A Wide Range of Treatments

We offer a wide range of rehabilitative services and treatments for your sports-related injuries including Cold Laser Therapy, ultrasounds, Kinesiology Taping, Electrical Stimulation therapy and Whole Body Vibration.

Cold Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a drug-free, non-invasive alternative procedure that provides pain relief and tissue regeneration to damaged tissue.
Ultrasound is a therapeutic treatment that reduces muscle spasms, tendonitis, sprains and inflammation.
Kinesiology Taping is a unique treatment that helps strengthen injured muscles by preventing overstretching, as well as relieving pain, reducing swelling, and improving circulation.
E-Stim is a procedure that helps injured joints by reducing pain and inflammation, and improving range of motion.
Whole Body Vibration is a muscle-challenging therapy that improves and increases muscle strength, endurance, and dexterity.

In addition, we offer One-on-One Training to those athletes who want to improve physical performance while strengthening and stabilizing muscles and joints to reduce risk of injury in the future.

Our Holland massage therapy can also aid in restoring health and wellness to injured joints and muscles. The primary function of massage is to increase circulation and flexibility in your body, improve your muscle function, and grant more freedom and range of motion for your joints.
